CCC Second Line in Support of City Park

Many from the New Orleans area have either been displaced by Hurricane Katrina (and cannot attend the event) or have expressed interest in supporting the area's premier road race, recognized as a world class event, the Crescent City Classic. In working with City Park, we are acutely aware that Tad Gormley Stadium and the surrounding area in the park is still in desperate need of restoration. For example, Hurricane Katrina destroyed the electrical system supporting the stadium when the stadium was left flooded for weeks. In the year after the storm, all football games, soccer matches and track meets had to be relocated. The impact on the youth of the city was dramatic.

We are pleased to announce that this year's Crescent City Classic is dedicated to helping City Park, which is the site of the CCC Finish and it's Post Race Festival. A portion of all race entries will be put into a dedicated fund to be given to City Park on race day. We ask you to become a SECOND LINE of support for this effort. Accordingly, we are dedicating 100% of all "Second Line" donations to the fund to help City Park. We want to help City Park refurbish itself so it again host the many area sports programs and residents that utilized the park before the storm.

Please spread the word to click on WWW.CCC10K.COM/SECONDLINE and help our world class race to help rebuild this world class facility in our world class city, New Orleans!
