CCFC Grant Program

The Crescent City Fitness Foundation sponsors events aimed at enhancing the exposure of youth and adults to the healthful aspects of a regular exercise program, including running and walking. This fall, the Foundation is dedicating its Crescent City Fall Classic, to our New Orleans area schools. This event will provide a focal point for schools to encourage training and participation as well as spirited interaction with the alumni, family and friends of the school. We believe that participation in this event is an opportunity for positive exposure and display of school spirit to the other runners, walkers and spectators at the race. The elements of the program, including the participation based prize package and cash grant, are outlined below.

The Foundation will provide the following to all schools and Non Profit organizations participating in the event:

A customized entry form to enable each school to register their students, faculty, alumni and administrators for this event. The school may offer a special discount registration rate of $15.00 to all participants who register through the school. This is a discount from the regular race registration rates, a substantial discount from the race day registration rate of $25.00, and includes the commemorative race shirt.

An opportunity for school or organization to be recognized for their commitment to the fitness of their students, alumni, staff and families. Race awards will be given to the first and second overall male and female finishers for each of the teen ages (i.e. 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19). Recognition will be given to the school that each award winner attended. Adults will receive awards in 5 year age increments (i.e. 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, etc thru 70 & over).

--- For each group that registers a minimum of 25 entrants, the organization will be eligible for the cash grants.

--- For each group that registers a minimum of 25 entrants, the Foundation will donate a Gallery edition Crescent City Classic posters from the current year’s race to be used at other fund raisers, auctions, or as gifts for the program coordinators.
