The Crescent City Bridge Run


What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a great evening run across the iconic Crescent City Connection! At four miles and rising to a height of more than three-hundred feet over the river, the Crescent Connection Bridge Run gives participants a breathtaking view of the city's skyline at sunset.

Join us to run or walk the most unique course in the South. Participants start on New Orleans' "West Bank" and cross the Mississippi River via the Crescent City Connection Bridge. Ending along the river in the Warehouse District on the "East Bank", the Bridge Run is a favorite among both serious runners, young professionals, and partiers alike! Experience the skyline and enjoy an evening at a post-race party only the folks from the Crescent City Classic can throw!.

  • *Entry Fees are non-refundable.
    *We offer a $5 discount for all Military members; Active, Reserve, Guard, Retirees, Dependents, DOD employees are all eligible; Discount also available on Race Day.
    *Children 3 years or younger do not need to pay registration fee. All other children pay the normal registration fee.

BIB NUMBERS, RACE T-SHIRTS:
Participants can pick up their bib number from the Registration Tents inside the Oakwood Center parking lot on Race Day or before the race during Early Number Pickup.

  • 4:30 pm Free shuttle buses begin picking up participants on Convention Center Blvd to bring to Start Line on Westbank

  • 5:00 pm Late registration ($40) and number pick up tents open inside the Oakwood Center parking lot near JCPenney

  • 6:30 pm Warm Up begins; Last shuttle bus departs the Eastbank to drop off participants at Start Line

  • 6:45 pm Final Announcements, Dignitary Welcome and the National Anthem begin at the start line on Hector Ave

  • 7:00 pm The Crescent Connection Bridge Run begins!

  • 7:30 pm The post-race party commences at the Port of New Orleans on Eastbank (1350 Port of New Orleans Pl); Live band begins playing on stage

  • 8:00 pm Buses begin picking up participants on Port of New Orleans Pl to bring back to Westbank

  • 8:30 pm Award ceremony begins on stage

  • 8:45 pm Band resumes playing

  • 10:00 pm The Crescent Connection Bridge Run post-race party officially ends; Last shuttle bus departs the Eastbank to drop off participants back on Westbank

The course is four miles total; about one mile is uphill and one is downhill; the other two are flat. The uphill slope is gradual, but the downhill slope, off the HOV lane, is steep.

Free Bus Transportation


FREE Shuttle buses will bring race participants from the Eastbank to the start area at Oakwood Center before the race from 4:30pm until 6:30pm and following the race from 8:00pm to 10:00pm.

Buses will pick up participants before the race at the end of Convention Center Blvd at Henderson, and after the race on Port of New Orleans Pl, near the post-race party.


Parking on the West Bank


Free Parking is available in the Oakwood Center shopping mall parking lot, (197 W. Bank Expy., Gretna, LA 70053) located near JCPenney.

Parking on the East Bank


Free Parking is available in Lot J & K off of Henderson Ave

Participants are invited to attend the Michelob Ultra Post-Race Party and awards ceremony after the race at the Port of New Orleans, along the river. Live entertainment, Michelob Ultra Beer, Kentwood Springs water, Gatorade, Rouses Fruit and Blue Runner Foods Red Beans and Rice will be provided for all race participants. There will also be local food truck options for sale, so don't forget debit cards/cash!

The time and place for all finishers will be recorded. Overall awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the open division. Awards will be given to the 1st overall male and female finishers in the Masters, Grandmasters and Seniors divisions, as well as to the top male and female finishers in each of the following age groups: 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-75, 75-79, 80+.

The Crescent City Classic is proud to be part of the New Orleans Challenge Series! The Classic, along with New Orleans Running Systems and the Power Miler Track Club, has joined forces to create a race series like no other. Runners will compete in each event and obtain points per division placement in each series event to be compiled for overall series awards. Custom awards will be presented to the top five in each division at the end of series at the Crescent City Fall Classic on Nov. 14, 2020. Complete all races to receive an Exclusive New Orleans Challenge Series medallion and t-shirt!
The Series is compiled of eight races:
• February 1st: Run/Walk on the Bayou 10k & 5k
• March 29th: Run/Walk through History 5k
• April 11th: Crescent City Classic
• June 6th: Crescent Connection Bridge Run
• July (TBA): The Power Mile
• September (TBA): Saints Kickoff Runner
• October 31st: Jazz Half Marathon & 5k
• November 14th: Crescent City Fall Classic 5k

*All Series Finishers will receive a Commemorative Series Medallion during the Crescent Connection Bridge Run Post-Race party (Port of New Orleans parking lot).
*Cumulative finishing times from the 3 Races will be used for awards.
*Overall Male and Female top finishers will be crowned "King and Queen of the Mississippi"!

FAQ's

Where does the race start?

The race begins on the West Bank, near the Oakwood Center JCPenney, 175 Hector Ave., Terrytown, LA 70056 at 7:00pm. Race Day number pick up and late registration will begin at 5:00 pm on Race Day inside the parking lot of Oakwood Center near JCPenney.

Where does the race finish?

The race ends along the Mississippi River on the East Bank, near the Port of New Orleans, 1350 Port of New Orleans Pl., New Orleans, LA 70160, where the post-race party will be held! After the race, you can pick up your race t-shirt and enjoy free food, Michelob Ultra beer, and local music!

What is the course like?

Where do I pick up my race t-shirt?

Commemorative race shirts will be given to ALL race participants on Race Day at the end of the race or during Early Number Pickup.

Each bib number will have a timing chip attached to the back - DO NOT REMOVE THIS.

Where is early packet pickup?

Are walkers and strollers welcome?

Absolutely! Just please be courteous to our runners and line up near the back on Race Day.

When will the Bridge be closed?

The Bridge will not be closed for the event. Regular Bridge traffic is not affected by the race because the event utilizes the HOV Transit Lane of the CCC.

Is there an entry fee for the post-race party?

No! Runners, friends and family are all welcome to attend! We will have complimentary food and beer for everyone!
